A Catholic Mini

Hey y’all!

The SST Mini with the Catholic churches last weekend in the SST Village was awesome, as a staff we got to see God do some amazing things in the students. Although we were expecting between thirty and forty students originally, we had a final number of six kids. Fortunately that didn’t stop the plans God had for the weekend.

As the students learned about how to spend quality time with God during a “Quiet Time” and recognize their own heart motives though Wes Chapman’s “Ultimate Intent” teaching, we watched the students begin to move from the traditions they had grown up with in the Catholic Church to a more personal relationship with our Lord. Wes also taught on the “Broken Heart of God” and how God desires intimacy with each of His children, grieving when He doesn’t have it. Saturday night Josh Langer gave a message on the Holy Spirit and how we can each receive “Power from on High” to see the kingdom of God come on this earth.

Sunday morning a Catholic priest came to the Village to lead us in Mass. As a staff it was a new experience, but a good one. We observed Communion, although the staff wasn’t allowed to eat the bread or drink from the cup because we aren’t “Confirmed” which is necessary in the Catholic Church for taking Communion. However, it was still a time to appreciate the way Jesus died on the cross for us.

Love y’all!

Arielle
